Special formwork and systems for ports and docks

The construction of port infrastructure requires the use of specialised equipment designed to operate in marine environments and to handle large materials.

STAC designs and manufactures the following types of equipment:

  • Slipforms
    • Function: used for the construction of vertical concrete structures, such as caissons for quays and jetties, steel slipforms allow concrete to be cast, even continuously, with a progressive lifting process.
    • Characteristics: slipforms consist of modular steel panels, supported by a system of beams and tie rods. Their structure allows them to adapt to different geometries and construction heights.
  • Formwork for breakwater walls
    • Function: these massive structures protect port areas from the erosive action of waves, ensuring the safety of ships and quaysides.
    • Characteristics: the breakwater wall formwork consists of steel panels designed to withstand extreme hydrodynamic loads and the corrosive marine environment. They can also be used to cast partially in water and be equipped with autonomous handling systems using dedicated wagons.
  • Other uses in ports
    • Cranes and lifting equipment for cargo handling.
    • Walkways and overhead access systems, in galvanised steel, for maximum resistance to the marine environment.
