Lifting systems for bridges and viaducts

The construction, maintenance and refurbishment of bridges and viaducts present unique lifting challenges.

The equipment used in these contexts must be able to operate in confined spaces, often at height and with heavy loads.

STAC designs and manufactures the following types of equipment:

  • Launching girders: used for laying prefabricated elements of bridges and viaducts, such as beams and segments.
  • Hydraulic lifting systems: hydraulic jacks, power units and control systems for lifting bridge and viaduct decks during maintenance work or replacement of supports.
  • Beam launching equipment: lifting and traversing systems for large steel or reinforced concrete beams.
  • Equipment for lifting decks: synchronised hydraulic jack systems for uniform lifting of bridge sections.
  • Piers and pier caps maintenance equipment: special lifting platforms, telescopic booms or suspended access systems to safely reach and work on piers and pier caps.
  • Subway lifting platforms: these platforms are specifically designed to allow safe access and work under bridges and viaducts, facilitating inspections, maintenance and repairs.
