Lifting equipment and machinery
Large construction sites require powerful and versatile lifting systems for the handling of heavy and bulky materials, with special capacities and gauges.
STAC designs and manufactures the following types of equipment:
- Gantry cranes: this type of crane, consisting of a gantry structure that runs on rails, is used for lifting and moving loads along a linear path and for vertical handling inside shafts that are being excavated or have already been completed. The cranes manufactured by STAC can achieve large vertical run of more than 250 metres and considerable speeds in the order of 50 metres per minute. Gantry cranes are used in the prefabrication of concrete elements, in the handling of pipelines, and in the construction of dams, metro lines and port infrastructure.
- Winches and hoists: these more compact and lighter lifting systems are used for precision lifting operations and for handling loads often in confined spaces. They are used for plant installation, maintenance of structures and lifting materials at height.
- Construction site lifts: temporary equipment placed at the service of the vertical excavation of shafts, equipped with a cabin for personnel, fixed wall or rope guides, and a series of control and safety systems that make them suitable for transporting people.
Lifting equipment can be equipped with technologies that improve the efficiency and safety of operations, such as:
- Electronic control systems that optimise crane performance and reduce the risk of human error.
Sensors and monitoring systems that provide real-time information on equipment status and working conditions.
Simulation software that allows lifting operations to be planned virtually, identifying potential criticalities.
